Residential
Service
- Existing Services - Office
hours are 8:00 - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. You must apply
in person for service, complete an application for service,present
identification and pay all required deposits and service
fees. If you are renting the residence you will be asked
to provide a rent receipt or lease agreement in the same
name as the person applying for the service. Service is
usually connected the same day if the application is taken
before 2:00 p.m., in the event it is later than 2:00 p.m.
the service will be connected the next business day.
- Mobile Homes
If you are applying for electric service for a mobile
home you will be required to present a copy of the permit
for said mobile home as issued by the Muscle Shoals City
Business & License Dept. Service to a mobile home
also requires an electrical inspection by the City of
Muscle Shoals Electrical Inspector. All service requests
for mobile homes will be placed on hold until such an
inspection is received in the office of the Electric Board.
The request for service will be placed on the work schedule
at the time the inspection is received.
- New Construction
Temporary Services - Anyone applying
for a temporary service for construction must present
a copy of the building permit purchased from the City
of Muscle Shoals. They will also be required to fill
out an application for service, present identification,
and pay all deposits and service fees. The temporary
service will not be placed on the work schedule until
the Electric Board receives the inspection slip from
the Muscle Shoals City Electrical Inspector. It is the
customer's responsiblity to contact the inspector to
request such inspection. It is also the customer's responsibility
to request that the Electric Board spot the location
of the temporary service pole.
New Permanent Services - If you are
applying for a service that has never had an existing
electrical service you will also be required to provide
a copy of a Muscle Shoals city building permit for that
location. You may fill out an application for service,
present identification, and pay all deposits and service
fees but the order will be placed on hold until the
electrical inspection slip has been received from the
Muscle Shoals City Electrical Inspector. It is the customer's
responsibility to contact the inspector to request such
inspection. The Building and License Department can

Commercial Services
A representative of the
company applying for service must provide a copy of their
Muscle Shoals City business license and fill out an application
for service, provide identification, and pay all deposits
and service fees. In some instances, a commercial customer
will be required to sign a power contract. For more information
